Two men are due in court later charged with the murder of a man whose body was discovered by a dog walker.
John Anthony Hall's remains were found in Mark's Lane, in the West Rainton area of Durham at around 7pm on Sunday.
Northumbria Police said a post-mortem examination found the 46-year-old died from multiple injuries.
Two men, aged 45 and 48, will appear before magistrates in Sunderland, police said.
A statement from Mr Hall's family, of Shiney Row, Tyne and Wear, described him as a "gentle man".
Mr Hall was reported missing from his home in Burn Terrace on Monday.
Three other men have also been arrested on suspicion of his murder.
Two men, aged 43 and 32, have been bailed pending further inquiries, while a 34-year-old man remains in custody.
